Children's Health & Safety
Many children view construction sites as playgrounds and think they are fun and safe places to play. They are often keen to explore new areas and may display a natural sense of curiosity for anything new that's going on. In the case of building work and construction, there may be temptation to go and see what's happening, but construction sites pose serious dangers for children.
As responsible adults, we should all make sure that children understand the dangers that construction sites pose. Although they may look like interesting places, where exciting digging or building is going on, there can be a number of dangers. As well as the obvious hazards such as holes and uneven ground, there may be unsafe structures (being built or being knocked down) and the equipment left behind by builders at the end of the day is hazardous too.
It's important to keep away from construction sites both during the day when work is in action, and at night, when the workers have left.
